Rob Johnson

Rob Johnson served as chief executive officer of the Billiard Congress of America (BCA) beginning in 2006. In this capacity, he managed and directed all functions and activities of the non-profit association, including redirecting the association's efforts from league operations and competitive focus to marketing and research-based initiatives. In addition, he was responsible for overseeing the operation of the industry's largest annual trade show, 9-ball tournament on ESPN and seminar series. He also managed the relocation of BCA's headquarters from Colorado Springs to north Denver and the integration of a new staff to implement strategic initiatives.

Prior to joining BCA, Rob served as executive vice president and general manager of Sutton International Motorsports. During his time there, he served as executive vice president and general manager of the 2006 Grand Prix of Denver, an annual Champ Car race held on the streets around the Pepsi Center. He also managed sales, marketing and public relations initiatives for NASCAR, Baja, Race of Champions and Champ Car projects on behalf of Sutton International Motorsports and its clients.

Since 2002, Rob has also been the owner of Professional Sports Management, a company originally formed to manage and operate Pikes Peak International Raceway on behalf of Lehman Brothers. Until its sale in October 2005, PPIR was a 1,200-acre, 42,000-seat motorsports complex that hosted four major motorsports events (AMA, NASCAR, IRL and USAC) and more than 150 additional “on track” events annually. Currently, Professional Sports Management consults on myriad motorsports projects, including the Shell Eco-Marathon (Race Director) and Tulare Motor Sports Complex (Chair of Motorsports Advisory Council).
